Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF)

LeveL-21 DAF systems is designed for simple and continous operation with low operator attendance. It is best implemented for fats, grease, suspended solids, colour removal and separation for both municipal and industrial applications. TF series concept is based on Traverse Flow design, where feed and discharge are in opposite side. A proven air dissolving system, consists of air saturated tank and high pressure pump, produces high level of air saturation and extremely small micro bubbles in the contact chamber at the inlet of feed water. When the saturated water is introduced to the feed water, the micro bubbles attach to any particles in the water. This causes them to rapidly float to the surface of the DAF for removal by a sludge raking system, leaving

Moving Bed Biofilm Rector (MBBR)

Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) Technology is the cutting edge of biological treatment in Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) The
MBBR Technology is currently the most advanced solution for COD/BOD Degradation, Nitrification and Denitrification Processes. The technology
in MBBR system which employs X30 biocarriers as the biological carrier has proven to deliver consistent and outstanding performances
in many application. IWE provides services for the design of MBBR systems as below.

X30 biocarriers carrier plays a very strong role in MBBR Technology
particularly to provide higher removal rates and more reliable
process stability. These two key points can be well achieved
by our patented X30 biocarriers which is able to provide removal
rates up to 10 times higher than any other conventional bio carriers
by other competitive solutions.

Know-how and services:

  • MBBR plant design
  • Design of process air supply
  • Design of carrier retention screens
  • Tank design
  • Process engineering
  • Commissioning

Sequential Batch Reactor (SBR)

Sequential Batch Reactors (SBR) is a special form of activated sludge treatment which is able to achieve equalization, aeration, and clarification in single reactor basin. This process treats the wastewater in batch system and each batch is operated in a timed sequence through a series of treatment stages. The SBR system operates in cycles which consist of 5 basic phases i.e. Fill, Aerate, Settle, Decant and Idle. During ‘Fill’ phase, the basin receives influent wastewater and aeration starts as soon as the tank has been filled. The ‘Aerate’ phase requires mechanical mixing and aeration which allows biochemical reactions to take place. Then, during ‘Settle’ stage, the aeration would stop and the activated sludge is allowed to settle under quiescent conditions at the bottom of the tank leaving clear supernatant at the top. Floating decanters will be used to ‘Decant’ the clear supernatant. ‘Idle’ signifies the standby period for the next cycle to commence and is normally set at a very short time. The adequate time provided for each phases shall be controlled using PLC.

Moving Bed Reactor – Hollow Fiber (HF-MBR)

Membrane bioreactor (MBR) is the combination of a membrane process like microfiltration or ultrafiltration with the biological wastewater treatment process and the activated sludge process.

It is now widely used for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment. This bioreactor processes the advantages of membrane filtration and biological treatment technology.

Membrane modules, which can replace the secondary sedimentation tank, are used to separate mud and water. The MBR process has obvious advantages compared to the traditional wastewater treatment.

Our membranes modules Hollow Fiber (HF) and Flat Sheet (FS) have been successfully used in the fields of surface water purification, pretreatment of desalination sea water, municipal & industrial wastewater treatment and fermentation broth clarification.

MBR advantages:

  • Effluent high quality (low turbidity, low TSS) for regulatory or re-use purposes
  • Not reliant on input water MLSS
  • Longer activated sludge age and lower sludge disposal costs
  • Smaller footprint
  • Easy operation

HF-MBR consists of straw like vertical bundles where the liquid flows out-to-in due to sucton (permeate) pump attached to both the ends of a fibre bundle. Fibres are usually provided with some slack to allow them to move laterally in the flow of air bubbles, which also air lifts the sludge through the fibre bundle surface. HF-MBR is used almost exclusively for submerged MBR’s, both for industrial and municipal applications, where they are often favoured for large installations on the basis of their lower membrane aeration energy demand.

HF-MBR is assembled as a complete filtration module. It consists of a stainless-steel cage or skid made up of several elements including hollow fiber membranes. The hallow fiber membranes are designed for MBR plants and tertiary treatments. HF- MBR element has a bi-directional suction configuration to enhance filtration performances. HF-MBR allows large flux and low investment cost.

HF-MBR-IA/IB elements have a microporous structure in the membrane’s surface of 0.25 f for optimal microfiltration. PVDF materials delivers greater strength & durability. HF-MBR-IA/IB Series membranes are made of a strong tubular woven tube and coated with a functional layer of our proprietary permanently hydrophilic PVDF membrane

PVDF Material Features:

  • Permanently hydrophilic
  • Enhanced durability tensile strength
  • High permeability
  • Excellent chemical resistance

Moving Bed Reactor – Flat Sheet (FSMBR)

FS-MBR membranes has sheet type configuration and are mainly rectangular in shape. The liquid flows through even gapes in the mainframe arrangement and it is sucked from all odd gapes to allow liquid pass through the membrane surface. Modules may be stacked to provide a double deck, with further stacking possible for a few products.

FS-MBR membranes are used almost exclusively for submerged MBR’s for both industrial and municipal applications where they are sometimes favoured for smaller installatons on the basis of their operational simplicity.

FS-MBR membrane is made of PVDF, which has better chemical stability, fouling resistance and mechanical strength. With advanced membrane fabrication technology, we control the membrane pore size around 0.1 um to get a higher water flux and water quality. The mortise and tenon structure is used in the support plate to get a more stable spacing without side panels. The support plate can be installed from top and installed from one side without the limits of the construction site conditions.
